This is the first homegrown boy we have ever kept.  A son of our foundation doe Agatha, this boy should add milk, milk and more MILK to his daughter's.   He is possibly the largest buckling we have ever seen - at 7 months of age, he was larger than the grown does he was breeding!  He has a truly exceptional rear leg set, with tons of strength and bone to him.  I have high hopes for this cross of Agatha's milk and Lilac's style.

2009- Wow, did Forrest ever exceed my expectations!  His daughters were absolutely outstanding at nationals this year!  His daughter Zenith, was 6th place Junior kid, his daughter Time to Shine was 11th place junior, and Mosaic was 14th place Intermediate!  We are anxiously awaiting udders this coming spring....if they are there (as we expect them to be!) then Forrest may well be our top buck!

2010 - Every single one of his daughters have shown us incredible rear udders and teat placement, as well as lots of milk.

After much debate (and a husband who has a fervent desire for less bucks on the farm) I have decided to offer our senior herdsire, Soldier-Mtn Sherwood Forrest for sale while he is still young enough to work in another herd. We will being using him again through the magic of AI.

If you want MILK and COMPONENTS this is the boy for you. His dam Agatha, had a top official lactation of #4880 (we were not on test every year) #2 overall, and was #1 for Butterfat over ALL BREEDS in '05 with 204#. (eat your heart out, Nubians!) She was also #1 for protein with 138#, and was #2 in those categories in '07. This is a buck that can make a difference in your milk pail.

He is easy to handle and work with, and is a gentle breeder, easily used on young doelings. He improves rear udder height and teat placement and size, and certainly production. Price is firm at $500. I think Ron Keener is coming through our area soon as well.
